Founded in 2020 as an artist-run collective and now directed by Catherine Ulrich and Maria Jean, after / time gallery is an experimental fine-art platform based in Portland, Oregon, USA.

To come after is to acknowledge what has come before - histories, practices, actions, positionalities - and to move with the knowledge and capacity to care for the past, build the present, and nurture the future. Understanding that just as time is not fixed and thus forms a time-complex that we move through, so are our actions and thoughts in a constant state of flux: reacting with and against the perimeters within which we exist while projecting into new registers of possibility. After also declares the need for balance - that at times our work, while important, needs to come after our needs as people and as artists.

We strive not to drain and exhaust but to build, inspire, and recharge.
