“Swimming Without Limbs explores the emotional toll of addiction on those who live in its shadow. The work centers on the experience of the bystanders, the witnesses who absorb and endure. Feelings of childlike trust, fear, and disbelief surface through these ceramic forms that are both tender and uneasy. In making these sculptures, I tapped into a somatic, intuitive process where outcomes were unknown and control was consciously surrendered.”
