A Mild Case of Several Things offers a glimpse into a realm of interplay among sound, vision, and sensation. Based in Bogotá, Colombia, Mora contemplates the reception of multi-sensory information as a non-linear experience as well as the perceptual conditions of the brain: the resulting body of work inhabits the intersection of psychological study and artistic expression. Operating as both a method and point of inquiry is the mutable nature of perception, brought to the fore by neurological and somatic phenomena that shift fluidly between transformation and transposition. Central to Mora’s creative practice is the accentuation of color, not as a mere property or arbitrary feature nor as a fixed attribute of the work but as as an encapsulation of its most fundamental essence. Articulated through light and form, hers is a world in which tactility is experienced aurally and sonic textures perceived visually – a space of seamless dynamic mutation that invites engagement through movement. In A Mild Case of Several Things, Mora contrives a physical translation of the dissolution of sensory boundaries, ushering the intangible into the third dimension.
